I Photographed this viper along with my friend Dr Leon Pereira. In my zeal to get DOF i wasnt able to blur the background. This was shot from a very close distance.
Bamboo Pit Vipers are very calm in nature & will strike very rarely. They are poisonous but there are no known cases of Human death attributed to them. Though one would have to undergo medical supervision & a very painfull experience.
Very adept at climbing & difficult to spot.

Excellent close-up of this beautiful snake. I can imagine it hiding in the green foliage in the rainforest! Great sharpness and colours which stand out nicely from the bakground which I find blurred enough! The composition is great!

Great Shot of this Snake, DOF and POV, Yes getting the background out of focus when you work with a deep DOF=F8 or greater, it is not easy specially if your model is a snake, Good work nothing wrong with this Photograph :-))

Hello Badruddin,
The BG is blurred enough because the viper's head and neck are sharp and stand out.
Fine, nicely composed shot.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan
