What a dainty little Common sandpiper you have here. It sure gave you a lovely pose for this photo.
I like your composition and crop since you gave the bird ample space to 'look' into. The colours are natural although the details are a little soft, but sufficient. Probably this was due some cropping you’ve done to the original and the focal length combined with the 1.4x converter since the 1/800 shutter speed should have rendered it a little sharper. I like the evenly coloured grey BG, but it is just a pity about the wooden pole behind the bird. I did a workshop to remove this and some of the noise, so I hope you like it. I assume you took this shot on an overcast day since the colours seems a little drab, but that too I tried to address in the workshop.
Anyway, good work and TFS.
PS. Have a great Christmas and a wonderful 2007.

What a splendid catch!
This little fellow was really posing for you! :)
The POV here is very good but the selective focus only on the little bird is excellent and that gave you a good blurr on the BG.
The natural colors are beautiful, the details sharp and the composition wonderful.
Bravo, TFS and Happy Holidays!
