I think it's wrong of you to leave but it's obviously your decision.
You're obliging your 'enemies'!
A great capture of this pollinator visiting the beautiful Helleborine Orchid together with an interesting note. Excellent details and colours that stand out against ther dark green background.
TFS and all the best wishes, Ulla

A fine istance of a possible mutual symbiosis in nature captured quite candidly here Catherine, the wasp obviously enjoys its longer than usual stay on those orchid flowers and the plant has a means of ensuring being pollinated. But I don't think "narcotic" substances are the only attractants of that plant, surely its flowers superficially resemble some female bees! A superb capture MF, I really wish you to continue with TN...

Your contributions to this site have been very valuable, both the subject and the high standard of photography. This fine capture of a wasp visiting and Epipactis flower is typical.
So it is with sadness I see you want to leave TN.
I don't want to say adieu: I would like to say au revoir!

I too have noticed the insects getting disoriented after filling the nectar, this is an interesting image of this wasp almost not noticeable on these lovely orchids. As for as staying back, its your decision. tfs.

I am very interested in orchids, and I learned a lot from your notes.
I also read that you are the second member to say Good Bye today.
I looked in detail at your portfolio, and it is sad,you do not wish to contribute to this site having so much talent and joy to offer to TrekNature.

Excellently composed pic showing brilliant lighting and hence the sharpness and great detail shown. The POV, BG and choice of subject are good too!
This place (TN) in wrong direction developed .We wanted yourselves also that our photos to become better and to learn both were best without the points. Only comments write.Best regards Siggi

I am so sorry that it has come to this, but as I said to Bayram, I totally understand your reasons. You and your wonderful nature posting will be sorrily missed in your absence. Stay well pretty lady.

I will certainly miss your photos, but much more your honest critiques. I have always felt that you were truly interested in any photo of mine that you have ever commented on.
This is a wonderful shot of not only the beautiful wasp, but also the plant that it is checking out. Exceptional detail, exposure and composition. Great work!! God bless.

A precondition to want to learn about nature is to love nature.
I think that every photo that tries to capture the beauty of nature (even without identification of the species) is a first and big step for the love of nature.
Please stay. You have a lot to give to those they will try the second step.
My smile is for your photo which as usually is excellent.

An amazing photo of Epipactis helleborine and the wasp during pseudocopulation, it is really admirable!
I will miss your photos but I respect your decision; I hope that you will reconsider.

Hi dear Catherine,
It's very sad both you & Bayram decided to leave (at least particularly) the site, because you always had / have so much to offer. Both photographically and in the name of "learning from nature through photography". I hope you'll fully return once.
Remarkable and pleasant shot, beautiful use of flash, excellent sharpness, DoF and colors. Perfect macro with plenty of details. Congrats and tfs.
Friendly and respectfully yours, László

Points i have been so many times writing i don't care.
Yes I can follow you desicion to leave but it's a pity.
And yes members are expecting points, if you not give it you get no critiques.
Looks to my pictures in the summer i am writing that. 10 points or less.
Personally its a pity you leave with your beautiful photo's.

I am afflicted by your decision to suspend active participation in TN-life. Every of us has own reasons and aims to TN-participation, possibilities and aptitudes. Most of them are quite worth. Not each good TN-member can correspond to your high requirements. But your decision deprives their opportunity to see your pictures, to analyze them, to read your notes and comments.
I also see at photos DOF, composition, colours and lights, applied equipment and so on. I like to do it. It is useful for me. I say about these components of photography. May be I am not very good TN-member but I love all my friend here and their work.
My heartfelt wishes to you and your family in coming New Year, Merry Christmas and I hope to see you here again.

deeply touched by this very detailed and rich image showing a German wasp intensely busy on Epipactis helleborine blossoms collecting something I did not know before reading your fabulous notes. The information of orchids producing hallucinogenic sustances is something very fascinating and totally new to me. Your contribution certainly is one of the most outstanding and rare highlights on this site.
I'm also deeply with you concerning your comments on certain habits spreading on a site that was initally designed to learn about nature through photography. On the other hand, it is a necessary property of gems to be rare. And as long as gems like this posting from you can be found here it is very much worth the effort of visiting TN and contributing to it every now and then. I've been a rare guest of this site since months or even years myself, but mainly out of the reason of reducing the time I am spending in front of a computer. So I have to apologize for not having reacted to your posting any sooner. I am very grateful and glad to see it. Thanks a lot, Catherine. Hope to see you again here, sooner or later.
With all my best wishes to you,
