Photographed in Las Lomas de Arena, a large area of naturally-occuring sand dunes and lagoons located on the outskirts of the city of Santa Cruz. Over 200 different bird species have been recorded in the park so it's worth a visit if you're ever down that way.

Hi Mark,

What a fabulous image of this Burrowing Owl my friend, superb detailed highlighted eyes, good exposure/white balance control and a very nice pose, you must have been close to this fella with a 84mm focal length, great shot mate and well done,
Congratulations Mark and have a nice day,

My favorite pic of your gallery. Warm colors and good definition. Hope de sand inside your lenses as i did. :P
I would only increase the depth-of-field, but that is my personal choice.Good job!
