|I photographed this Little raven (Corvus mellori)in one of the lawns of the Martin Building in La Trobe University in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is quite difficult to identify or even differentiate Little Raven from Australian Raven(Corvus coronoides)but I am quite sure it is the former because of the throat hackles which are neither bigger nor thicker like those of the Australian Raven. It was indeed a great pleasure to know and identify these majestic birds though the opportunities were fewer. However, I am satisfied with this shot of acceptable quality.|
The little raven (Corvus mellori) is a species of the family Corvidae that is native to southeastern Australia. An adult individual is about 48–50 cm (19–20 in) in length, with all-black plumage, beak and legs and a white iris, as do the other members of the genus Corvus in Australia and some species from the islands to the north. Like those of the other two species of raven in Australia, its black feathers have grey bases. Although the little raven was first named by Gregory Mathews in 1912, it was only in 1967 that there was consensus to separate it from the Australian raven (C. coronoides) as a distinct species.(Wikipedia)

It is really a splendid capture. Amazing specie of raven which I never meet in my region. Outstanding colors. The light and details are exceptional.
Thanks for sharing!
Hello Hussain Sahib,
Beautiful Raven. Mainly its white eye. Quite well captured despite dark plumage (lower portion). Good sharpness with well natural habitat.
Thanks for showing,

Photographing all black subjects such as ravens and crows can be a real challenge when trying to obtain the correct exposure. You managed quite well, we can still see detail and the highlights are natural looking. The focus is sharp and I love it's beautiful white eye. Very nice shot!!
