[Note Guidelines]
The magpie goose (Anseranas semipalmata)is the only living member of the family Anseranatidae. It is a quite common waterbird that is found in northern Australia and southern New Guinea.
The males are bigger then the females and develop quite a lump on their heads. Feeding is done in water or on land.
This lot of them were at Keatings Lagoon just outside Cooktown in far north queensland.
The photo was taken on maximum zoom and then cropped so it isn't quite as sharp as I like.

Hi Ian,

The vegetation is framing well the birds. The point of view is showing the details of the Magpie Geese. There is a good contrast between the colors of the picture. Have a nice dya.
