[Note Guidelines]
Hello friends. It was a year ago, on May 5, 2016,
banding outing of American Woodcock chicks with
Bobcat Celtick my pointing dog (Griffon Korthals),
the bander was Michel my bécassier friend.

His solid pointing and steady to the flight (steady to wing)
of my Griffon Korthals had allowed me to make dreams
photos of the woodcock Mommy with heavy flying and
dangling legs that indicates she has chicks, we had found
and banded 3 chicks.

It was 1 year ago when life was so beautiful, in the spring
of 2016 and in the autumn of 2016 Bobcat Celtick had
passed his tests to enter in the woodcock chicks banding
program for the spring of 2017 but destiny wanted otherwise...

I cry and I will cry all my life the death of my little Bobcat Celtick
we had so many other things to do together, so many other
woodcocks and ruffed grouse to meet again... :'(

Bobcat Celtick your memory and all that we
shared together will remain forever in my heart.

1/1000s f/5.6 ISO1600 85mm (35mm eq:127mm).

«Behavior
American Woodcock spend most of their time hidden
in fields and on the forest floor, where they probe
for earthworms. On spring nights, males perform very
conspicuous displays, giving a buzzy peent call,
then launching into the air. Their erratic display flight
includes a distinctive, twittering flight sound and ends
with a steep dive back to the ground.»

Merci.

Asbed

Hello Asbed,
A wonderful inflight shot of the American Woodcock. Not an east feat to accomplish since they take off like a rocket. I like the detail you managed to capture with your fast shutter speed.
