I took this photo today after hiking up the Herman Creek trail for over an hour with my two girls. This was the view on the bridge there over the creek. We hiked on for another hour, and then turned around. I sit here with sore muscles, but it was a lovely day. Very bright and sunny, yet down in this little canyon with the creek it was actually very chilly and cold. I set the camera on the metal bridge railing to use as a makeshift tripod and brrrr....it was COLD!
Herman Creek flows to the Columbia River down the base of one of the many canyons that emanate from the northern Oregon Cascade Mountains. The Herman Creek area contains the largest surviving forest of old growth Douglas fir, cedar, and hemlock in the Columbia River Gorge.
This trail connects with the Pacific Crest Trail, which runs from Mexico to Canada through many mountain ranges.

This looks so cooling and refreshing Lori. I hope you dipped your feet into the water, only perhaps it is too cold. You and your girls must have had a great time together. Excellent POV and colours. TFS.
