Rosie and I will be heading off to Africa for two weeks starting tomorrow, I thought I would post one last image before we take off.

I don't often get to see a Red-Breasted Nuthatch, so when one showed up at Magee Marsh I was thrilled. We observe many White-breasted nuthatches visiting our feeders, but the Red-breasted is found mainly in our southern counties.

These tiny birds are always on the move, going up and down the tree trunks and larger branches in search of insects.

Wishing you a great trip to Africa, Ron!
This is an adorable picture of a cute Nuthatch perched on the trunk of a tree. I can imagine how it must be hopping on it up and down; the posture very strongly suggests that.
Superb POV that gives the best possible impression of this bird's beauty.

Hello Ron,
What a superb image with exceptional details of the feathers. This is a lovely bird with interesting colors and moving habits....For this specie moving on the trees with his had down is not a problem....I am waiting for your photos from Africa....

Ciao Ron, great capture of lovely bird in nice pose on beautiful blurry BG, wonderful natural colors, splendid sharpness and fine details, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Hi Ron,a wonderful close-up of this nuthatch caught in its typical pose, the quality is absolutely fantastic despite the dark light and difficult location, very well done. Have a nice trip,we wait you with new pics! Luciano

Hi Ron,

The bird is well placed in the frame. The point of view is showing the details of the Red-Breasted Nuthatch. The good luminosity is bringing out the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello Ron

Great shot of this Nuthatch in its characteristic pose,
very fine POV and framing, great focus, sharpness, details,
very beautiful background bokeh, bon voyage and vacations, TFS

Indeed and unusual bird - have never seen a red-breasted nuthatch to the best of my knowledge. And, of course, the perfect exposure and color that we always see in your work. If you are back from Africa, I hope you had a great time and made some great pictures to share with us!!
