Pyrausta aurata in the morning sun. It can be easily confused with Pyrausta purpuralis. Common throughout the UK. Beautiful purple moth contrasting against the green of the herb garden.

Hi Moz,very sharp capture of this moth,the details are very impressive,not easy with a species so small,i know very well its sister purpuralis but i never seen this,well done! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano
