Common Name : Branded Imperial

This pretty Lycaenid has a reddish-orange underside, the forewing unmarked, and the hindwing with large black submarginal spots on the white tornal area. The hindwings bear one long and two short tails.

The Branded Imperial is somewhat local in distribution, but is usually found in small numbers. It favours forest pathways at all elevations. The caterpillar feeds on Smilax bracteata, which is a common forest vine.

c'est une rencontre qu'il ne fallait pas manquer, bravo pour l'instant. La dof est faite sur la fourmie, raison pour laquelle le papillon est un peu flou, mais les couleurs et la composition rattrappent tout a.
