[Note Guidelines]
Purple Crested Lourie ( Bloukuifloerie ) Tauraco porphyreolophus
From the family Musophagidae
Diet consists mainly of fruit.
They prefer dense forst and bushveld.
They move around quickly through the bush jumping from branch to branch in search of food.
Size is 47cm including the tail.

This picture was taken in a birdpark in Polokwane. I got many shots of this beauty but somehow I messed up with the settings and nearly all were slightly blurred. Result, I'll have to make another visit to the park.

This bird is exquisite...excellent placement, wonderfull colors, one of your best Willie, well done!

Not a bad shot Willie. They are not easy to get. Alway s jumping from branch to branch. These are extremely rare in the wild.

Willie, Any reason to go back to a bush with this kind of birds is a good one. I look forward to seeing the shots with the correct settings.
Greetings, Jan

Una maravillosa ave muy conocida en TN.
Buena composicion Willie por colorido y entorno.
Hay algo que en estas aves que impide un foco perfecto... lo recuerdo de otras fotos publicadas.
De todas formas, la presentacion es muy buena.

Good composition Willie by colorful and surroundings.

Good excuse to go back. I have had the same issues with Lourie's, I think it has to do with the shiny feathers. I now use MF on these guys and still struggle.

The detail is good and I like the setting.

Thanks for posting and points later.

Willie, what a lovable bird. Despite the mess you mentioned about the settings, I like the picture. And if you go back to the park, tell us.

Amazing looking creature. Good to see in its environment and also good that you got a bit of light in the eye. Very good, but not perfect as you said - good luck on your next visit to the park
