Hallo Carl
A great story!
A great image - technically not perfect but great because of the experience you share.
I like it very much, that is of course the story as well as the photograph. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

Hello Carl,
OK!!....Now you have captured my attention and interest as well. Can't wait to see the other four images. I will definitely be checking back daily!! TFS.

Hi Carl
Great shot showing well the hunting behavior
Probably the focus is just behind the Jackal (the animal, not the photographer ;-)))
Looking forward for the other pictures, I really can feel the scene
Thanks
Tom

Hello Carl,
What a great image despite anticipating little technical Georgie's requirement that it must have been taken at 98.1 metres and half a stop either way .... or something like that. I apologise for using your work with polishing his marble for him but I am sure he would wholeheartedly, and in full characteristic immature arrogance, agree. But back to your image here: I fully agree with the positive critiques above, including, with a smile, Tom's tongue-in-cheek reference to "... the animal, not the photographer ..." I also look forward to the rest of the sequel. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Best wishes
Neels

Hello Carl
As you wrote « Technically it is far from perfect »
but you captured a great moment of the Jackal's
hunting behavior, a dead and life situation from
the world of animals, one question for you Carl,
do you also did a cropping to the photo ? not having
telephoto lens at almost every of my photos
I give cropping but sometimes when I see that
I am loosing on image quality I prefer to give
a small cropping than a heavy cropping, TFS

Hello Carl
Looking at it another way, maybe sometime the magic is not in the detail but in conveying the moment and the mood. Your really long range grab and the haziness actually manages to convey the uncertainty of this dramatic moment, the tension in the environment rather well..What worth a perfect picture if it dilutes the mood and actually diverts attention from this typical Jackal crouch and innocence of the dove..
Thanks

Bonjour Carl,
Très belle scène de la vie sauvage capturée dans de difficiles conditions.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
